Returning To Sudan

Abraham Deng Ater presents to the Office of Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit, a hand carved Bald Eagle Head cane from Tucson Arizona as a symbol of unity with the United States and as a sign of respect. The office of the President assured the Deng Ater Foundation that it would support and assist them with their efforts to build schools in Jonglei state, southern Sudan.

Abraham Deng Ater presents the Governor of Jonglei state, Kuol Manyang Juuk, with a hand carved wood Bears Head cane from Tucson Arizona as a symbol of unity and sign of respect. Governor Manyang assured the Deng Ater Foundation that it would support and assist them with their efforts to build schools in his state. To his left stands Honorable Maker Deng Malou.

MLK Day Event
19 January 2009

Holly Page & Rachel Kranch stand outside the Deng Ater Foundation Schools for Sudan booth at the Reid Park MLK Day Event to raise money for building schools and to create awareness about issues facing southern Sudan. Our team members gathered donations of antibiotic creams, first aid kits, hand sanitizers and various other much needed medical supplies, in addition to, several backpacks & school supplies, Soccer balls and other assorted toys.

Elders Present Land To Foundation

After much deliberation between Mr. Ater & Mr. Dains, the Paramount Chief, Chiefs and Village Elders of Duk County, it was decided that the first school would be built in Dongchak. A suitable building site was selected and a preliminary site visit was made where the land was presented to the Deng Ater Foundation by the Paramount Chief, Chiefs and Village Elders of Duk County.

Abraham Deng Ater & Donald Dains thank Honorable Maker Deng Malou for his unwaivering support and present him with a hand carved wood Horse Head cane from Tucson Arizona as a symbol of unity, deep gratitude and as a sign of respect. He has guided both Mr. Ater & Mr. Dains while assisting them with the formation and registration of the Deng Ater Foundation as an indigenous Non Governmental Organization with the Government of Southern Sudan and the South Sudan Relief & Rehabilitation Commission from its earliest inception to date.

Healthcare Prevention & Education Clinic
7 February 2009

Abraham Deng Ater holds the first public healthcare prevention and education clinic within the township of Duk Fadiat. 100 World Health Organization approved mosquito nets and 50 regular mosquito nets, 100's of eye glasses, 100's of tooth brushes and tooth paste were distributed to the local community. Mr. Ater was also able to provide several boxes of antibiotic creams, first aid kits, hand sanitizers and various other much needed medical supplies to the local clinic.
